In the Hawaiian culture, one of the highest
honors that can be bestowed upon another is
to be "the keeper of the bones"....to be
responsible for another's remains after the
death of that particular individual.
Often, we are asked, as keeper of the bones, to
perform "one last task"....that was promised to
the deceased....often in a private
moment........"Hana Hou!" (one more time!).........
