In between thinking of ways to create
fundraisers for Kauai's voyaging
canoe, "Namahoe", and just for fun, I
began outlining a sail.   What actually
started off as idle sketching began
to emerge as a beautiful voyaging
canoe, in almost  "perfect proportion."

When finished,  I asked a favorite
uncle of mine for a name.  He named
her  
"PIILANI  PAU'OLE," after his
mother, who just happened to be my
great grandmother's best friend.  Oh
my goodness, I can just visualize
the   two of  them on this canoe......
somewhere......up there.....having a
blast!
